Geocache Description:

This is number 21 in a series of 34 caches that have been placed from South to North along a 20 mile section of the Sal Sagev NCN7 strip.

BBC DVD - Gateway to the Highlands. Episode 6 along the Callander to Killin Railway Path with Julia Bradbury. Julia Bradbury walks from Callander to Killin . Not only is this the longest and arguably most dramatic walk yet, but it passes through the unruly territory of Scottish clans and Rob Roy. The Highlands were a place to be wary of, until the railway arrived.

Cycle Route 7 passes through two National Parks - Loch Lomond & The Trossachs and Cairngorms. The cycle route follows some of the most stunning scenery on the National Cycle Network. The route leaves Glasgow by following the River Clyde to Dumbarton and then heads to Inverness via Abefoyle, Callander, Killin, Pitlochry, Kingussie, Aviemore and Carrbridge. Highlights include the Glen Ogle viaduct on the railway path between Lochearnhead and Killin. The Rob Roy Way is a seven day walk across the Southern Highlands of Scotland taking in some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK. Starting from Drymen on the West Highland Way it goes north east to finish in Pitlochry. The Rob Roy Way is 77 or 94 miles dependent on route choice.
There is a Neolithic Chambered Cairn nearby. NN 5750 2185. A Clyde-type long chambered cairn was discovered on the estate of Edinchip, 1 1/2 miles (2km) SW of Lochearnhead, at the head of Strathyre. It is situated at 162m OD on a natural terrace in birch and oak woodland on a S-facing slope, and is some 30m W of the disused Callander and Oban railway and the old military road from Stirling to Fort William.
