We have enjoyed four separate through-paddles of the Sammamish River, each one extremely enjoyable. Now it's time to share some of our fun with you!
We have paddled this reach in January, April, July, and October. It is definitely our favorite on this river. The water conditions were great each time! Above the cache, and just below Wilmot Gateway Park, you get a little bit of fun, moving water, but it should be easily manageable, even in an inflatable kayak. Just back-paddle ferry away from any shoreline vegetation.
If you get here by paddling upstream from Sammamish River Park/Trail, there will likely be very little current to keep you from doing an upstream to downstream out and back.
The soda tube hide is clipped to an overhanging alder tree branch, a foot or so above the typical winter high water line. In low flow conditions, this may make it four or five feet above the water.
Enjoy a safe paddle on this local water resource treasure!
