Geocache Description:

Please replace back exactly as found.

This cache is located near the Sundial sculpture on the Quarter Mile Walkway near my freshman dorm in Baker Hall. Stealth is required as this is one of the busiest and most open areas on campus, and it's probably best if you go for it at night or during intersession. RIT is an open campus and visitors are able to park in any designated visitor space or general parking space not restricted by signs for other users. For more details on parking, see here.

This geocache was featured on RIT's Behind the Bricks blog on June 4th, 2019 (no longer a spoiler as the cache has changed).

The Sundial is a massive twenty-five foot structure that is hard to miss if you are on the residential side of campus. Constructed by architect Alistair Bevington, the Sundial was installed in the heart of the ResLife area in 1968. In this photo, the area surrounding the Sundial looks much different than it does today. Landscape modifications and the addition of buildings, such as the Student Development Center and Rosica Hall, have turned the once sparse area into a lush setting without taking the focus away from the sculpture itself (RIT Behind the Bricks).
