Geocache Description:

Directions Are Overrated?

Despite my husband’s (mc3cats) great passion for caching and being dragged along on many an adventure, I really have not found that many caches on my own. I am a puzzle person so I should have. My passion is the hide! I know several eccentric, overly confident (and yes slightly arrogant) cachers who have rudely commented that I should not be allowed to hide caches since I have found so few. Tough cookies boys! (I have favorite points in the 20’s so I must be doing something right). From the responses about how clever, fun and yes even evil my caches sometimes are puts a smile on my face and gives me desire to create more clever caches. If you are familiar with any of my caches you know they are not your standard bison tube or small container. Each one is specifically designed to blend in to the environment or are attached to a puzzle. All created with much glee and a little sass.

With that being the case, the cache page and instructions on it are essential and all you need for finding each cache. There are often specific instructions cautioning care and suggesting the use of a specific tool. My caches are delicate and uniquely created with the help from mc3cats. Many of my caches have been broken cause cachers “manhandle” them by force to get in or macgyver a contraption to break in thus breaking my cache, all because they refuse to take the time or think they are above reading the cache page. Many, many times cachers post “I can’t find it so it must be missing.” No!! They just didn’t read the cache page and look at the clues. Even on my read the directions cache many chose not to read the directions despite the cache location give away being right there smacking the reader in the face. (I just shake my head at the education system these days). Just because you can’t find a cache (whether you read the cache page or not) doesn’t mean it is missing!

So be careful, be sensitive to other’s hard work and READ the cache page! (and think outside the box).

Your geocaching "Quest" starts at the listed coordinates. There is a tag on the pole that has 7 digits on it. Starting at the FIRST THREE DIGITS AFTER THE "A0", take the those numbers and SUBTRACT 39. Make that  number the value of XXX. Take the last three numbers on the tag and ADD 405 to it. Make that number the value of YYY.

FINAL CACHE:  N 47 27.XXX  W 122 09.YYY

P.S. Often when people message me about how they couldn’t find a cache, I ask “Did you read the cache page?” They answer “Umm, no, but I thought I knew…..

Please be gentle with the cache. A lot of care and ingenuity went into making the cache. Please do not force the cache open. You will break it and cause the cache to be disabled ruining the fun for others.

Good luck happy caching!

Mamacats
