Caravaggio ha il suo Playground
grazie al Basket86
Con la collaborazione del Comune di Caravaggio, ma soprattutto grazie alla volontà, l'impegno, la costanza, il cuore, l'anima, il lavoro e, ovviamente, ai quattrini di tutte le persone che fanno parte della società di pallacanestro Basket86, finalmente da giugno 2018 è possibile giocare su questo campo di basket all'aperto.
Dopo l'ok definitivo del Comune, in soli 30 giorni le risorse interne alla società hanno lavorato per: posare i canestri (ad altezza regolabile), mettere la recinzione col cancello, tracciare le linee per terra, piazzare un contenitore con materiale baskettaro (in primis le palle) e, con sorpresa di tutti, installare 4 pali a energia solare per l'illuminazione! Ultima chicca: sono state recuperate, ridipinte e piazzate 4 panchine, nella zona ombreggiata dietro uno dei canestri. Ah dimenticavo: uno dei papà, che ha una fabbrica di fustelle, ha realizzato le maschere per le scritte sul campo!
Perché BLACKTOP? Semplice e crudele allo stesso tempo: la superficie del campo è di grezzo e ruvido catrame! Ha già fatto qualche vittima (soprattutto gomiti e ginocchia) e ogni volta suole e palloni vengono limati di un tot… Ma ovviamente c'è già in progetto una nuova copertura più liscia e colorata. Si parla dell'anno prossimo. Abbiate fiducia, il Basket86 non lascia le cose a metà!
E' stato organizzato in pochissimi giorni il primo torneo Careàs Street Basket: 24 squadre pronte a sfidarsi in un bellissimo torneo 3contro3 sotto il sole cocente del 14 luglio. Con malcelato orgoglio vorrei informare la popolazione tutta che anche io ho avuto l'onore di partecipare a questo torneo, grazie anche ai 4 véci che con me hanno composto la squadra dei Good Ol' Five. Essendo noi i più anziani del Torneo, non abbiamo chiaramente avuto gran fortuna in classifica :)
A organizzare mirabilmente questo torneo sono stati quattro ragazzi, tre dei quali facenti parte della Promozione, quest'anno promossa in SerieD!
Sia in squadra che come graditissimi ospiti, hanno partecipato con simpatia, umiltà e voglia di giocare e stare insieme anche giocatori e giocatrici che con Caravaggio o col Basket86 hanno avuto a che fare.
Per tutto luglio uno dei nostri trainer ha portato avanti, per 3 settimane (3 giorni alla settimana) e in modo del tutto gratuito, l'allenamento dei ragazzi 2007-2008-2009.
Non ho volutamente fatto nomi perché avrei sicuramente dimenticato qualcuno: o perché non li conosco bene ancora tutti o perché molti lavorano dietro le quinte e portano avanti le cose in silenzio ma con una tenacia senza precedenti. Quello che mi sento di dire è che qui ho trovato una grande famiglia: siamo tutti fratelli, i grandi sono tutti papà o mamme (o nonni e nonne!) di tutti i piccoli, i ragazzi più grandi sono fratelli maggiori, tutti giocano a basket con tutti (perfino io ho giocato col mio topo Yuri.1 che ha 10 anni mentre nella squadra avversaria c'era una montagna nera di 16 anni, un under14 e altri ragazzi di età diverse!) e l'ambiente è di sereno e sano divertimento, fair play, sudore, colore, tecnica e spesso, come sottofondo, musica drum-and-bass, hip-hop, trap che neanche a Harlem o nel Bronx! Bellissimo!
Questo per dirvi lo spirito con cui si fanno le cose nel Basket86.

Caravaggio has its Playground

With the collaboration of the Municipality of Caravaggio, but above all thanks to the will, the commitment, the constancy, the heart, the soul, the work and, of course, to the money of all the people who are part of the basketball company Basket86, finally from June 2018 it is possible to play on this outdoor basketball court.
After the definitive approval of the Municipality, in a month have been placed: the baskets (adjustable in height), the fence with the gate, the lines on the ground, a container with basket material (balls, at first): thanks to the hard work of Basket86's people. And, to everyone's surprise, 4 poles for lighting have been posed! As a last treat, a couple of weeks ago 4 benches in the shaded were recovered, repainted and placed on the shadowy area behind one of the baskets. Oh I nearly forgot: one of the dads, who has a die factory, made the masks for the writing on the field!
Why BLACKTOP? Simple and cruel at the same time: the surface of the field is in rough and tough tar! It has already made some victims (especially elbows and knees) and every time shoesoles and balls are eroded a bit more... But of course our society have already a plan: a new, smoother and more colorful covering. Maybe next year. Be confident, here at Basket86 they don't do things halfway!
The Careàs Street Basket was organized in just a few days: 24 teams ready to challenge each other in a beautiful 3vs3 tournament under the burning sun on July 14th. With unconcealed pride I would like to inform all the people here that I also had the honor of participating in this tournament, thanks to the 4 friends who composed the Good Ol 'Five team, with me: being the oldest of all teams, we clearly did not have a great luck in the ranking :)
There were four guys to organize this tournament admirably, three of them being part of the Promozione team, which has been promoted in SerieD league on june!
In some of the teams and as welcome guests, some particular people took part at the tournament: several players who have been related to Caravaggio or to the Basket86 society; they participated with sympathy, humility and desire to play and be together.
During all July one of our trainers trained the 2007-2008-2009 boys for 3 weeks (3 days a week) and completely free of charge.
I have not intentionally made names because I would have surely forgotten someone: either because I still do not know them all or because many of them work behind the scenes and carry on things in silence but with an unprecedented tenacity. What I can say is that here I found a great family: we are all brothers, the big ones are all fathers or mothers (or grandparents and grandmothers!) of all the little ones; the older boys are older brothers; each one can play basketball with everyone (even I played with my son Yuri.1 who is 10 while in the opposite team was a 16yo black mountain, an under14 and other boys of different ages!); here I feel serene and healthy fun, fair play, sweat, color, sport technique and often, in the background, one could hear drum-and-bass music, hip-hop, trap just like you were in Harlem or the Bronx! Very beautifull!
This is to tell you the spirit with which they do things in the Basket86.
