Geocache Description:

The Kaleidoscope Energy Rainbow Monitoring Isotopic Transponder, or KERMIT for short, was originally a Penn State University project intended to track Rainbows and determine if their frequency can be used as a predictor of lightning strikes, with the eventual goal of harnessing the power of a storm to produce electricity. The project was scrapped in late 2006 when Pennsylvania's legislature shifted in favor of wind turbines by ruling that wind turbines and related equipment may not be included in property-tax assessments. Funding for the KERMIT project was pulled, and the equipment already in the field was decommissioned.

But one of the devices was overlooked.

This cache is completely out in the open and can be spotted easily. This is a gadget, where the objective isn't to find it; it is to open it. The cache DOES NOT need to be taken apart or pried open; there is a combination lock and your job is to determine the combination using the clues given both here and on the cache container.

Note: There may not be cell phone reception near the cache. No one in the adjacent private club knows how to open the cache. They have, however, been nice enough to provide permission for this cache to be located on their property.

You'll need to figure out 4 numbers to solve the combination K####.
