Geocache Description:

This cache is probably a little more out of the way than others in the park but it has some cool history.

Hard to imagine now, but the cache area was once a flat, open field. Many, many years ago, while preparing this field, the farmer unearthed hundreds of boulders which he carted to one of the edges, forming a wall. It's pretty cool to see it today... just as he left it... although through time, nature is slowly covering it up. An interpretive sign has been placed here to tell the story.

The other history of this spot is more recent and dates back to July 16, 2004 and I give credit to geocachers Funky Nassau and Jim52 for bringing me here 14 years ago to do the original cache...

The cache is on a side trail and part of Tupig, off of the Floodplain trail, closer to Mapleton Road than Gorge. With the upgrade to Floodplain Trail (fall 2019), the signage for Tupig is no longer there but you'll see the small grassy entrance on the right about 100 steps past Riparian (coming from Gorge Road side). There is also a trailhead accessible from Frampton Lane, across from Thistlevale Street.(Trail 7 sign) but unfortunately, parking on the side of the road is questionable. For this route, just follow the trees with blue markers. It's 10 minutes to the cache. Bring a pen or pencil. (UPDATE Aug 2020) This trail has been altered and now bypasses the "entryway" to the Wall. You can still do it but a lot of tree cutting and deadfall make it more difficult. The best way (13 min. walk total) is to park at the Mapleton parking lot and follow the main trail for a few minutes until you come to a smaller unmarked trail to the left. This is the short Riparian side trail and will take you across a walkway bridge (#4). It ends at the other main trail known as the Floodplain Trail.
