Among all saints, St.Anthony is probably the best known and loved in the world. Millions of pilgrims and devotees, coming from every part of the earth, visit every year his Basilica in Padua. He is considered the protector of domestic animals, and is usually portrayed next to a pig with a bell around its neck. On January 17, traditionally animals and stalls are blessed and placed under the protection of the saint.
