Geocache Description:

HR:  Cache se nalazi u blizini simpatičnog nogometnog stadiona "Komunada". Pronađite cache i proslavite pronalazak raspucavanjem penala.

EN: Cache is located near the cute football stadium "Komunada". Find the cache and celebrate it by shooting the penalties.

Predivan pogled i krasna uvala.

EN: Ustrine is situated on the edge of the gorge, which, from a height of 180 m, slopes down to the sea. Awesome view and beautiful bay.

The name of "Ustrine" comes from the latin word "ustrina" (a burning). It derives from the ancient practice of burning forests to clear land for gardens and pasture. The earliest settler were Ilirians which were followed by Romans. Prove of roman presence can be found at sight of roman rustic villa remains. The presend day settlement is founded by Slavic settlers. In 1931, the settlement had 212 inhabitants, and eighty years later it fell to only 23 residents. It's built at a height of 180m above sea level to make it less vulnerable to pirate attacks. Local citizens are known as great fisherman (th local waters are rich fishing grounds for blue fish, especially tuna) and sheep breeders.
