This lookout is the location that early settlers would stand watch for tall ships coming up the Mary River. This provided enough notice for the wharf workers in town know to prepare for the arrival.
A stone monument marks the location and recently a lovely steel and hardwood lookout was installed that gives great views of the upstream and town reach of the river. A great photo spot.
There is handicapped parking and the lookout is wheelchair accessible.
You don't need to leave the path to find this little hidden cache.
