(LT) Žiūrai vienas iš Dzūkijos nacionalinio parko kaimų. Kaimas garsus etnografiniu ansambliu, partizanų ryšininkais, iš kaimo kilusiais partizanais, kurie perlaidoti kapinėse (kapas su vyčiu) po susisprogdinimo NKVD apsuptame bunkeryje (kelyje Varėna - Žiūrai yra rudas ženklas vedantis prie tos vietos). Taip pat iš vienos sodybos yra kilę broliai - Nepriklausomybės kovų dalyviai, atminimo akmuo yra prie asfaltuoto kelio link Trakiškių. Po pirmojo pasaulinio karo kaimas priklausė Perlojos respublikai. Žiūrų etnografinis ansamblis yra vienas populiariausių etno dainų puoselėtojų Lietuvoje, išleidęs kompaktinę plokštelę ir kelias audio kasetes, bei vinilinę plokštelę. Šiomis dienomis ansamblyje daugiausia gieda senolių vaikai ir proanūkiai. Kaime nuomojamos baidarės ir kaimo turizmo sodyba, galima pasivaikščioti ir pasigrožėti vietine architektūra, ypatingai gražiu kraštovaizdžiu.


(EN) Žiūrai is a village in Varėna district, in Alytus County, southeastern Lithuania, in the center on the biggest wood massives 'Dainava' in Lithuania. It is situated on the river 'Ūla' valley, which is popular kayaking route with scenic shore exposures arround. According to the 2001 census, the village has a population of 35 people, now about 20 variable villagers. It has deep history with its freedom fighters and partisans after first and second world wars. Žiūrai settlement belonged to so called 'Perloja republic', which was a little sovereign self-government state in 1918-1919. This formation of some villages had its own court, money, troops, police and so on. Also Žiūrai is famous for its ethnografical choir, traditional crafts, mushroom and berries picking traditions, traditional lifestyle. Village is surrounded deeply by pine woods, which made it to keep its customs and natural villagers lifestyle till these days. Ethno-choir sings its authentic (there are over 200 songs originated from Žiūrai and passed over from ancesters to their kids over the years) songs, choir participate in national festivals and even has some CD and cartridge song albums. There is a beautiful nature arround, buildings have its native archtectural elements and planning. There is one main street from the hill down to the river Ūla and the second from side to another part of the village. I hope you to enjoy clean weather and sound of birds, beautiful homesteads ;)
