Geocache Description:

This is a great little hike to an amazing water fall. Only accesable in the spring, summer and fall. The trail is fairly easy untill the water fall were the trail has had some slides go across it but almost anyone should be able to make it across. You land where Bill Zimmer had is old trapper cabin for his trap line and you walk into a very different forrest from what you are used to seeing around horsefly. Very large ciders and mossy grounds. Just  abit down from the old trap house you will find an old outhouse carved out of an old cider tree. We love going to visit here every year. The cordinates may not be exact but it is right near the water fall. If you cant find it refer to the last picture to help you find it. My son left a red dodge challanger for swag and is excited to see what someone might trade for it. We will visit this cache every year to see what new and exciting thing we can find. As well if you have any historical information about this location please share and I will update the post from time to time

So far what i have learned about archie creek falls: About 1941, Victor Brown-John purchased a trap line from Fred Myers, which started above Prairie Creek, over to Archie Pass, from Horsefly Lake to Horsefly River. Mr. V. Brown-John already owned a trap line on Hobson Lake, and at that time, an individual could only own one trap line at a time, so Mr. V. Brown-John gave the second trap line to his eight year old son, Douglas, which made him the youngest owner of a trap line in the province, and they called it "Horsefly River Trap line." Doug Brown-John sold the trap line to Cliff Carlson about 1960, and he thinks the old cabin on Archie Creek was there before Mr. Carlson purchased it. So the "Old Trapper Cabin" could have been built by Fred Myers? Mr. Brown-John does not recall when Bill Zimmer purchased the trap line, but he was told that Mr. Zimmer's son is the current owner of the trap line. Fred Myers was a 'tough old bird.' He recalled a story about him being on the trap line when a snow slide came down and wiped out his camp, he managed to locate his axe and a few other items, but not his snowshoes. Myers discovered a moose carcass in the snow near the slide and used the hide to make a pair of snowshoes to walk out on. The first reference I have for Alfred Khudson Myers, aka Fred Myers, of Harpers Camp was when he applied for 40 acres of land in December of 1919. In 1920, the newspaper recorded that Fred Myers had returned from his trap line.
