Snaky Lane Wildlife Area
I recently discovered this area with my children and whilst enjoying the nature trail and brass rubbings we realised that it would make the perfect area for our first cache.
The area in managed by the Snaky Lane Community Wildlife Group and volunteers meet every month along with the support of the Blackwater Valley Community Partnership.
You may like to bring along a picnic and children may like to take along some paper and crayons for the brass rubbings which show some of the animals and plants that might be seen on the site.
Don't forget these instructions, a pen and a small toy to swap. The parking coordinates provide a short walk to Snaky Lane but are close to a few other local caches. Please do not park in Meadow Close as this is a private road - Thank you.
The coordinates are not for the cache itself, but for the main entrance to the wildlife area on Statford Road. From here you can follow the path into Snaky Lane wildlife area and find the answers to following:
How many brass rubbings are there? (AB) see hint to simplify this one!
Find the numbers from the postcode on the Memorial Sculpture Totem Pole (GUCD EPS)
Find the dates shown on the Poppy commemorating the Fallen (1F1G - H01J)
Year shown on the bench facing the pond (K00L)
The cache can then be found at:
N51 A L . [F - E] [F - H] [G + D] W000 J [K + A] . [L + D] [F - G] [C + B]
The checksum of all 15 digits is 52.
The cache is a small cliplock box, big enough for small swaps and travel bugs.
Please rehide exactly as you found!
Cache placed with the kind permission of the Snaky Lane Community Wildlife Group.
Good Luck!
