Geocache Description:

El Dorado Park is a North East Long Beach gem. The south part of the park has a walking/biking loop with fitness stations along the way. I've placed a series of caches along this loop, with many of them in very close proximity to the fitness stations. Unfortunately two pairs of the stations are not the requisite 528 ft apart, so I got creative. There is an entry fee to get in the park, but you can park in the neighborhood to the west off of Spring St. if you really don't want to pay parking.

Here is a link to the park website: http://www.longbeach.gov/park/park-and-facilities/directory/el-dorado-east-regional-park/ and some facts about hours/cost of parking: Vehicle entry fees are CASH ONLY: $5 Monday through Thursday; $6 Friday: $7 Saturday and Sunday; and $8 on Holidays Major Holidays * Holiday rate includes the following days: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, President's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day weekend (Sat, Sun & Mon), July 4th, Labor Day weekend (Sat, Sun & Mon), Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day.

Hours of Operation:

  • Fall/Winter 7:00am-5:00pm Nov 1- Feb 28
  • Spring/Summer 7:00am-8:00pm Mar 1 – Oct 31
Cool Facts About El Dorado Park
  • 100 acres
  • More than 150 species
  • 6 Lakes
  • 6 baseball diamonds
  • 15 tennis courts
  • 18 hole par 72 golf course
  • 4 miles of paved bicycle trails
  • In 1984: The park was the site for the archery competition of the Olympic Games, held in Los Angeles.
  • The park is open daily from 7 am until dusk and closed on Christmas.

All of the caches along this loop should be fairly easy to find. I don't believe you'll need any hints.
