This is an easy P&G. Be sure to get it in the daytime so you can see what the business to the north has done with the Skyvue Theatre screen.
In the past this was a popular place to come and watch your favorite movies in the summer. Skyvue Theatre opened June 9th, 1967. With one of the largest screens in Indiana. It measures 100 feet across and 60 feet high, or the equivalence of 5 stories high! The theatre permanetly closed in 2011. Drive In Theatres hit their peak at the end of World War II during the baby boomer's of the '50's and '60's. At the height of their popularity there were more than 4600 drive inn theatres in America. However, with the increase of Multiplexes and home video during the 1980's, drive inn theatres began a steep and steady decline. Today there are only 336 operational locations in the U.S.. Indiana has 12 of them, and Ohio & New York have the most with 28 each. Several states including New Jersey & North Dakota are home to a single theatre! America is losing one of its finest and most nostalgic forms of family entertainment.
Today the large screen displays The American Flag. For more than 200 years,the American flag has been the symbol of our nations strength and unity. It's been a source of pride and inspiration for millions of citizens. The American flag has been a prominent icon in
our national history. The flag consists of thirteen horizontal stripes, seven red alternating with 6 white. The stripes represent the original 13 colonies, the stars represent the 50 states of the Union. The colors of the flag are symbolic as well: Red symbolizes Hardiness and Valor, White symbolizes Purity and Innocence and Blue represents Vigilance, Perseverance and Justice.
