This wharf is the hub of the island during the lobster fishing season. For decades the second Tuesday in November has seen island residents turn out in the pre-dawn hours to watch the local fishermen sail off to dump the first traps of the season. The wharf has also been the jumping point for many an island teenager brave enough for a swim in the consistently frigid water of the Bay of Fundy.
