Geocache Description:

If you can't get access to the log, keep trying. I don't want anyone saying "I found the cache but I couldn't get to the log". That is not a Find. GZ is not approachable for southbound (heading to Geelong) traffic. The best place to park is near a farm gate about 60 metres south of GZ then walk in. There is no longer safe road verge space to park. Please don't park on the road. Happy Geocaching!

Welcome to 25,000 Trees. Across the road from GZ you'll see a billboard promoting the 25,000 Trees project of 2005. The project was in preparation for the XVIII Commonwealth Games, commonly called Melbourne 2006. The aim of the project was to plant 25,000 trees along the creek on 13th August 2005. Not only was the project a success, but they also set a new world record for the most trees planted in one hour: 13,125! There were no trees at all along the creek before the project. It looks so much better now.

I can almost hear you asking, “What's the connection between the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games and this tree planting project?” Well, this road was used by Games athletes and officials to travel to and from the basketball events at Geelong Arena. There were blue lines painted on the road surface to help unfamiliar drivers find their way.

At GZ you'll find a 700 ml screw-top plastic jar. It contains a log, a pen and a pencil, and some swag. Please remember to trade fair.
