Mount Green Cemetery
Mount Green Cemetery was founded on December 31, 1864, when a frozen man was spotted nearby. The oldest part of the cemetery is located in the northeast quadrant. The earliest family buried in this cemetery is the Tinsley family. The original house of the Tinsley family was moved from the Chan Cooper Ranch to the Museum of the Rockies. The Mount Green Cemetery is the oldest cemetery in the Gallatin Valley. About five people get buried on an average year. You may park at the driveway and walk in or you may open the gate and drive in if it is unlocked. you need your own writing utensil.
