Four score and seven years ago, Lincoln Junior High School was here where the Kroger grocery store is now. I attended this school many years ago and have fond memories of it. A replica of this same statue of Abraham Lincoln (as in the AR image) was at the top of one of the stairwells. For me, the only thing left of the school now is this bell on top of this small brick building and my memories in my 7th grade yearbook.
THE CACHE IS NOT LOCATED AT THE LISTED COORDINATES
This is part of an experiment with Groundspeak and integration of Augmented Reality (AR) into geocaching.
This cache requires the use of either an Android or an iPhone with the HP Reveal app installed. Links to the apps are below. The app requires you to sign up for a free account. There is no requirement for personal information. I suggest installing and setting up the app prior to attempting the cache.
To locate the cache:
--> (Best to do this beforehand) Download the HP Reveal app.
--> Search for the Aura "GC7YFMB".
--> Select the image of the plaque.
--> Select "GotBoots?wv's Public Auras" then select FOLLOW (you can unfollow after you finish the cache).
--> Once you've set up HP Reveal, go to the posted coords.
--> Open the HP Reveal app and make sure you're at the home screen.
--> Select the blue frame at the bottom of the screen.
--> Point the phone at the plaque (you may have to zoom in all the way in the middle and gradually zoom out).
--> An AR image of Abraham Lincoln will appear along with the final cache coordinates.
The cache is available 24 hours, however, the AR app may not work properly without adequate daylight, but it should have sufficient enough light to still work ok.
And, as always, be mindful of muggles.
