A quiet cache in a lovely village which can be combined with the others in the area. A level of surreptitiousness may be called for as it overlooked by several houses.
Hesket Newmarket is one of the most beautiful and peaceful of all the Lakeland villages, it lies at the foot of the Northern Fells and just inside the Lake District National Park. The timeless character of the village has been preserved as a conservation area. The area has lots of amenities and picturesque local walks of all standards; from easy strolls along the river side, to the more strenuous nearby mountains of High Pike or Carrock Fell.
This Geocache was placed with the kind permission of the ‘Caldbeck and Hesket Newmarket Parish Council’. The container unscrews to open. Please note it is not on or inside the monument!
I am a massive rock music fan and aim to give clues to each of my caches with reference to one of my favourite bands: Bad Company are an English hard rock supergroup, formed in London in 1973, comprising former members of Free, Mott The Hoople and King Crimson. They enjoyed great success throughout the 1970s, with their first three records reaching the top five in the album charts in both the UK and the US. Many of their singles still remain staples of classic rock radio stations worldwide. After a few membership changes and three periods of inactivity, Bad Company still perform to this day.
