La Scuola media di Crusinallo nasce nel 1976 in via monte Massone, nel borgo di Santa Rita.
Nel 1977 inizia la sperimentazione del ‘Tempo Pieno’ e nel 1983 il Tempo Pieno diventa Tempo Prolungato: la scuola in questi anni vive un grande fervore didattico e diventa in provincia un modello all’avanguardia per i sistemi educativi, formativi e pedagogici adottati. Tra i molti insegnanti di questo periodo, ricordiamo Ersilia Zamponi, nota per la pubblicazione, in forma di saggio, di materiali ludici e creativi per una didattica sperimentale della lingua italiana (“I draghi locopei” edito da Einaudi nel 1982). In quegli anni, la scuola viene anche intitolata a Gianni Rodari, scrittore, pedagogista, giornalista e poeta italiano, specializzato in letteratura per l’infanzia, nato ad Omegna nel 1920.
Nell’anno scolastico 1989/90 viene istituito il corso ad indirizzo musicale che è ancora oggi presente con i seguenti strumenti: pianoforte, violino, clarinetto e chitarra.
Con l’annessione alla scuola Media di Omegna, verso la metà degli anni Novanta, la scuola di Crusinallo divenuta sezione staccata, perde in parte la sua leadership e la connotazione che la aveva contraddistinta e attraversa anni caratterizzati da minor entusiasmo.
Riacquista la sua autonomia nel 2012 e diventa Istituto Comprensivo di scuole dell’infanzia, primarie e secondarie. Pian piano Dirigente ed insegnanti, con passione e slancio, stanno riportando la scuola secondaria ad un ottimo livello introducendo nuove sperimentazioni come il progetto “Classi senza aula”: l’aula cioè non è più lo spazio fisico in cui confinare una sola classe ma ospita la materia, sono cioè i ragazzi a spostarsi tra le aule dedicate a lettere, matematica, scienze, musica, storia, geografia e tutte le altre materie.

The lower secondary school of Crusinallo was founded in 1976 in via monte Massone in the village of Santa Rita.
In 1977, ‘full time’ began to be tested and in 1983, ‘full time’ became ‘extended hours’: in those years, the school experienced great didactic momentum and became a trailblazing model in the province because of the educational, formative and pedagogical systems it adopted. Among the many teachers of this period, Ersilia Zamponi is remembered and known for her publication in the form of an essay of recreational and creative notes for an experimental teaching of the Italian language ('I draghi locopei' published by Einaudi in 1982). In those years, the school was also named after Gianni Rodari, an Italian writer, pedagogist, journalist and poet specialised in children's literature, born in Omegna in 1920.
During the school year 1989/90, the musical study-route was set up and still exists today with the following instruments on offer: piano, violin, clarinet and guitar.
Merging with the lower secondary school of Omegna in the mid-90s, the school of Crusinallo, which had become a separate branch, lost to some extent its leadership and that connotation which had made it stand out, going through years characterised by less fervour.
The school regained its autonomy in 2012 becoming a ‘Comprehensive Institution’ including nursery, primary and lower secondary schools. Gradually, with their passion and enthusiasm, the headmaster and teachers are now bringing this lower secondary school back to an excellent level by launching new trials such as the project 'Classes Without A Classroom': the classroom is no longer the physical space in which to confine a single class but it houses the subject instead. That is to say, the students themselves move between classrooms allocated to literature, mathematics, science, music, history, geography and all the other subjects.
