Staffa è la sede municipale di Macugnaga e la frazione più popolosa. Vi si trovano il palazzo comunale, l'ufficio informazioni turistiche, la sede delle Guide Alpine, la farmacia, numerosi alberghi, ristoranti e bar. La chiesa parrocchiale, costruita nel XVIII secolo per sottrarre i macugnaghesi al continuo pericolo di slavine e alluvioni che incombevano sulla Chiesa Vecchia, è affiancata dal massiccio campanile eretto nel 1935 e alto ben 44 metri. Poco distante sorgono la piscina comunale, con centro benessere, e la Kongresshaus. Sulla strada che conduce a Pecetto si incontrano prima la Cappella dei Frassini, secondo la leggenda il primo luogo di culto in terra di Macugnaga, e quindi la partenza delle funivie per il Passo di Monte Moro. La cache si trova nei pressi del Museo della Montagna, al cui interno sono conservate le pionieristiche attrezzature delle prime guide alpine, alcuni reperti di tragedie alpinistiche avvenute sulla parete Est del Monte Rosa e numerosi cimeli della civiltà Walser e della storia alpinistica di Macugnaga.

Staffa is the municipal seat of Macugnaga and the most populous fraction. There are the municipal building, the tourist information office, the headquarters of the Alpine Guides, the pharmacy, numerous hotels, restaurants and bars. The parish church, built in the eighteenth century to steal the inhabitants of Macugnaga to the continuous danger of avalanches and floods that loomed over the Old Church, is flanked by the massive bell tower built in 1935 and 44 meters high. Not far away are the municipal swimming pool, with wellness center, and the Kongresshaus. On the road that leads to Pecetto you first meet the Ash Tree Chapel, according to legend the first place of worship in the land of Macugnaga, and then the departure of the cable cars for the Monte Moro Pass. The cache is located near the Museum of the Mountain, inside which are preserved the pioneering equipment of the first mountain guides, some exhibits of alpine tragedies occurred on the east wall of Monte Rosa and numerous relics of the Walser civilization and the history of mountaineering of Macugnaga.
