Town Name: Union Home
Population: Approx. 15
Reason For Becoming A Lost Town: Union Home was a hamlet that quietly drifted away.
Town History: Union Home was never much of an established town. Serving as a post office for west Greenbush Township in Clinton County, it was established in 1863. George Miller served as the first postmaster, but it is unknown if he named the town or why it was named Union Home. It was first called McMaster's Corners, with the only notable business being a tavern.
The post office ran from 1864 to 1903. After rural mail delivering was established, 4-corner hamlets like Union Home had little reason to keep its post office running. The tavern closed up and only a few homes remain. The name of Union Home will be forever preserved with the cemetery this cache is located in.
Cache Description: Cache is a big ammo box located at the far end of this cemetery. Going through high weeds will be necessary.
