Geocache Description:

Bury Saint Cachemunds Respawn

In 2012 we found our very first Geocache not far from this spot, Bury Saint Cachemunds. 1999 geocaches later it is safe to say that we have become a little addicted! Well, actually Dad has got the bug for it after initially being a little dismissive of the whole thing!

Unfortunately that original cache is long gone, so as a celebration of our 2000th find we have decided to place a new cache in the area.

Gainsborough Recreational Ground is owned by the council and was opened in 1975. You will see many people walking their dogs around the perimeter of the field and there is also a nice play area for the children. The start and finish line of the Westgate 5km Walk/Run starts from the car park, so if you are feeling athletic, bring your running shoes.

There are also two football pitches in the middle which can be busy at the weekend. It is an interesting place to play football as there is a definite slope, teams need to hope that they win the toss in order to choose which end they play in the second half of the match!

There is a car park right next to the field which closes its gates at 5pm, if this is closed there are areas to park on the road just outside the grounds. The cache itself is small, you will need to BYOP!

We hope you enjoy the cache!
