Cache placed for the 2018 KNC Geocaching Extravaganza, Fall Edition! The KNC offers a beautiful natural setting to explore, nearly 12 miles on 16 different trails of various terrain, and chances to encounter wildlife! There is an admission fee to hike the trails. Canada Goose trivia:
1) The Canada Goose is extremely successful at living in human-altered areas, often considered a pest species because of their destruction of crops and their noise, droppings, aggressive territorial behavior, and habit of begging for food.
2) Canada geese are known for their seasonal migrations. Their autumn migration can be seen from September to the beginning of November.
3) Canada geese fly in a distinctive V-shaped flight formation, with an altitude of 3,000 feet for migration flight. The maximum flight ceiling of Canada geese is unknown, but they have been reported at 29,000 feet!
4) Canada geese have been implicated in a number of bird strikes by aircraft. In 2009, a collision with a flock of migratory Canada geese resulted in US Airways Flight 1549 suffering a total power loss after takeoff causing the crew of the aircraft to land the plane on the Hudson River.
This cache is a bit of a hike, located near the start of the Headwaters Trail. You're looking for an ammo can concealed "nearby" the trail, so be cautious of muggles!
