Welcome to #7 in the HD JP Series. This is a series of eight caches and a final, with a small award for finishers, which has been published in memory of a good friend and master cacher. The first seven caches in the series published on the same day, so you can hunt those at will. Just to make things interesting, the last one will publish on or about December 1, so stay tuned! The eight caches are spread out over a large geographic area, however, so an important TOTT for this series will be your map! The list of all the caches is here: HD JP Series Caches. Be sure to collect the code word from each cache in the series; you will need those words in order to solve the puzzle for the coordinates to the final.
This very special man and dear friend left us too soon recently. HD JP lived nearby by but touched so many others nationally with his passion for geocaching. He was a prolific finder as well as hider of caches. He was fond of many many caches placed by others, but this location is the exact site of his first ever geocache find, Crikey Mate (GC10NCR). He brought several of us to this site years ago as he wanted us to see where the passion began. When the original was finally archived HD JP remarked that it was still his all time favorite cache. It seems only fitting that we place a memorial cache here to commemorate where it all began.
Here's some details from the original cache description: This cache is located on the Virginia fishery and Game lands. This is a very nice area to come for the day and just sit and relax (especially if you have a fishing pole). All Virginia fishing laws apply! This park is open from Sunrise to Dusk so no night caching is allowed.
