Geocache Description:

Do Not Go To the POSTED Coordinates.

Do Not Go To the POSTED Coordinates. They are just there as a nearby placeholder, just to show you that the cache is in the Emmitsburg general area.

Please do not try to answer all of these questions by going to the www first. That just defeats the purpose of you spending time at this beautiful, historical cemetery and enjoying the gorgeous views! :)

You are supposed to go to the cemetery. Only after you have done that, and if you are still stuck , please feel free to reach out to me with a request for confirmation. I am happy to help!

I am notifying you of this because I designed this cache using information I found on site.
If you use outside resources, you may formulate different answers than what I did!

I cannot stress this enough. I DID NOT use Find A Grave to formulate the questions.

If this was an armchair geocache it would be designated as such.

Nearby the Reference Point coordinates you will find a family cemetery that has been designated as an American Catholic Historic Site.

As with all cemetery caches, please be respectful.

According to a small, white obelisk-like monument that is OFF BY ITSELF, ALL ALONE, located within the wooden fence boundaries of this family cemetery, how many years after William Sr.'s death did his relatives erect this small, white monument? (I am giving you a hint here. It is the only "monument" of its kind within the bounds of the family cemetery.) Record that answer as Answer #1.

According to signage found near this family cemetery, William Sr. moved his family to sanctuary, a location 50 to 60 rods away from the cemetery. In which direction did William move his family? Do not abbreviate or hyphenate your answer. Use two letters, capitalized, and record that answer as Answer #2.

According to signage found near this family cemetery, members of this family married with other families and helped establish St. Mary's County in what state? Do not abbreviate your answer. Use two letters, capitalized, in the format that the U. S. Postal Service uses to abbreviate states' names, and record it as Answer #3.

Ann Wheeler is also buried in this family cemetery. Ann was a mere 30 years old when she passed in the year 1739. According to the grave marker, aka tombstone aka headstone for Ann, she was the first wife of William Sr. On said grave marker, one word is split among between lines. It is a word that isn't usually split (or hyphenated) this way. What is that word? Record your answer as Answer #4

Enter your answers into Certitude with NO commas in between each answer. No spaces between the answers. I did capitalize all of the LETTERS that I entered. And I did put a period in between each of my answers to separate them, and after the last answer.
