This is the start of the Yorkshire board road to Scar house dam and is also the route of the old railway line created to build the Dams many years ago. At various point as the road runs parallel to the river it is possible to see areas which were dammed to provide water fo the railway.
The village has this small cricket ground so if you're visiting during the season you may have to be quite discrete but feel free to watch a while.
