Abandoned Hooes Road CITO

Some of you may recall the story behind this bike/pedestrian trail from my Abandoned Hooes Road (FSf #2) cache. Not only has this old roadway been abandoned, it is also being neglected, especially its western 500 feet or so. There is lots of trash on and alongside the trail, as well as in the woods, especially on the north side of the trail. In addition to trash pickup, some "landscaping" is recommended (if we have enough people). Groundcover and leaf litter is now covering large segments of the trail, and encroaching brambles and fallen & overhanging branches are also issues.

So, grab your gloves and come work off some of those Thanksgiving calories! This is also the perfect excuse for getting out of the house and leaving the relatives behind.
