Geocache Description:


This spot provides a panoramic view over Walker Bay. On a day when the sea is restless, majestic sprays of the waves can be appriciated as they crash against the cliffs.

Rietfontein (Reed fountain) – This area is a wetland fed by a subterranean spring (fontein). The water supports growth of reeds (riet). The European settlers camped here on arrival in Hermanuspietersfontein in1857. Hermanus Pieters, a teacher from Holland, came to the Caledon district in 1815. ...
