[ITA] Il centro storico di Cisternino è il posto più adeguato per andare a caccia di piccoli e grandi tesori… la struttura del centro, con il suo dedalo di vicoli tortuosi tra le abbaglianti case bianche è il posto ideale per perdersi e ritrovarsi. Bère Vecchie (il Borgo vecchio) è il rione più antico e più esteso del centro. Quest’area ha le caratteristiche di borgo medievale ad insediamento spontaneo, con tipiche case bianche a terrazzo e scala esterna. Se i palazzi del centro sono ben conservati, non altrettanto si può dire delle antiche mura, che oggi non esistono più. La protezione del centro è stata garantita dalle case addossate le une alle altre che si susseguono attorno al centro storico ad eccezione dei varchi storici (Porta Grande, Porta Piccola) che consentivano l’ingresso al paese. Negli corso dei decenni del secolo scorso, il Comune ha effettuato ulteriori aperture di varchi al centro senza danneggiare la struttura del borgo. Questa cache è l’occasione per visitarne uno dei più curiosi. L’ ingresso a Bère Vecchie dal lato della torre dell’acquedotto è stato ricavato aprendo le mura di un’antica abitazione da parte a parte. Entrando da questa “porta” si ha la sensazione di varcare la soglia di una casa privata che conserva ancora il grande focolare che veniva utilizzato per cucinare.

This cache is an opportunity to visit one of these gateways. The entrance to Bère Vecchie on the side of the aqueduct tower was created by opening the walls of an ancient house from side to side. When entering this "door" you have the feeling of crossing the threshold of a private home that still retains the large fireplace that was used for cooking.
