Die Pfarrkirche Jagerberg ist nicht nur eine stolze Wehrkirche aus dem 13. Jahrhundert sondern DER gefühlte Mittelpunkt des kleinen südsteirischen Ortes. Der Legende nach wurde sie zum Dank von Herzog Friedrich II. dem Streitbaren errichtet, nachdem ein Jüngling ihn durch einen gezielten Schuss aus der Armbrust vor einem wildgewordenen Keiler rettete. Die Kirche ist dem heiligen Andreas geweiht. Die daneben stehende Kapelle ist der heiligen Notburga geweiht, zu deren Ehre jedes Jahr im September ein großer Kirtag stattfindet. The church of Jagerberg is not only a fortified building from the 13th century it is also seen as center of the small southern Styrian town. According to the legend, it was built by Duke Frederick II the Disputable, after a young huntsman saved him from an attacking wild boar by a shot from the crossbow. The church is dedicated to St. Andrew. The nearby chapel is dedicated to St. Notburga, to whose honor a large fair takes place every year in September.
