This is one of a line of 21 surviving milestones along the former Norwich to Thetford turnpike, created in its entirety in 1766 and lasting until 1870. If possible I will try and place caches near as many of these milestones as possible, although as I know a few are beside the main A11 I may have to get inventive to make the caches accessible!
Given this cache's location, parking could be difficult unless you're catching the park and ride or popping to the nearby services and walk round the corner. It's on a cycle path so that could be a healthy alternative! (We walked up from Hethersett when we placed it). I don't suggest parking on the side of the road and please don't park in private driveways.
