Geocache Description:

We all love TV series. They draw us in and keep us coming back each week, intently following each story line. We feel connected to the characters and develop strong opinions as to how or why each one makes decisions and drives the course of the plot. We identify with the characters. We laugh, cry, cheer them on and worry about them. Stories become places for us to escape. To forget our own troubles for a time and entertain our senses. Good TV series keep audiences loyal and coming back season after season, wanting more. Other times a series doesn't quite catch on or ellicit the kind of favortism and appeal as it's creator may have hoped for. So for all those ill fated TV series of the last 10 years, this series of HNY caches is a tribute to them.

'Scorpion' is an American action drama series created by Nick Santora for CBS. The series stars Elyes Gabel, Katharine McPhee, Eddie Kaye Thomas, and Jadyn Wong. Inspired by a true story, it is a high-octane drama about eccentric genius Walter O'Brien and his team of brilliant misfits who comprise the last line of defense against complex, high-tech threats of the modern age. As Homeland Security's new think tank, O'Brien's "Scorpion" team includes Toby Curtis, an expert behaviorist who can read anyone; Happy Quinn, a mechanical prodigy; and Sylvester Dodd, a statistics guru. Pooling their extensive technological knowledge to solve mind-boggling predicaments amazes federal agent Cabe Gallo, who shares a harrowing history with O'Brien. However, while this socially awkward group is comfortable with each other's humor and quirks, life outside their circle confounds them, so they rely on Paige Dineen, who has a young, gifted son, to translate the world for them. At last, these nerdy masterminds have found the perfect job: a place where they can apply their exceptional brainpower to solve the nation's crises, while also helping each other learn how to fit in. The series premiered on September 22, 2014. On October 27, 2014, CBS placed a full season episode order for the first season. In March 2017, CBS renewed the series for a fourth season, which premiered on September 25, 2017. 'Scorpion' received mixed reviews during its first season, which was criticized for the plot lines and characters. The succeeding seasons achieved a more favorable reception, with most praise centering on the emotional weight of the series. The show became CBS' highest-rated drama series, achieving a peak of 13 million viewers during its first season. On May 12, 2018, CBS cancelled the series after four seasons.

Ten years. A milestone to celebrate for some things such as HNY19, and for others a reminder that not everything can stand the test of time. Congrats to Glenn Six and his crew for putting on the most amazing New Year's Day event our area has had for the last 10 years and hope to see it continue for many more. Enjoy the day, the new year and all your caching adventures.
