Have you ever flown to Orlando? Ever wonder why your airline ticket to Orlando International Airport (OIA) has the airport designation MCO?
Many long time residents of Orlando know that MCO stands for McCoy. Several even know that McCoy was the name of the previous Orlando airport. Some might even know that before that it was called McCoy Air Force Base.
Few, however, remember that before it was known as McCoy Air Force Base it was Pine Castle Air Force Base and it’s commanding office was Col. Michael N. W. McCoy.
So how did the base come to be named for it’s commander?
Find the cache and discover the answer. It's a very heroic story!
The original contents of this cache were a pocket hex tool, a can opener, a Hot Wheels car, some action figures, a beanie bug, a log book and pen.
