The 15 caches that form the crosses are all traditional caches. They differ from each other when looking at shape and size, but the are all easy to find. Over deze locatie
U staat hier op de Oudezijds Voorburgwal. ‘Oude’ suggereert dat er ook een ‘Nieuwe’ is en ‘Voor’ suggereert dat er ook een ‘Achter’ is en dat klopt. De Oudezijds Voorburgwal, Oudezijds Achterburgwal, Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal en Nieuwezijds Achterburgwal vormden samen in de 14e eeuw een bescherming rondom de toenmalige binnenstad. De Nieuwzijds Achterburgwal heet tegenwoordig Spuistraat.
Als u hier een paar meter naar het Noorden kijkt, ziet u het oudste gebouw van Amsterdam: de Oude Kerk; gebouwd aan het begin van de 14e eeuw. Vóórdat de Katholieken tijdens de Alteratie in 1578 de stad werden uitgeschopt, heette de Oude Kerk nog de Sint Nicolaaskerk. Als u vanaf deze plek wederom naar het Noorden kijkt - nu lángs de Oude Kerk - ziet u de torens van de huidige Sint Nicolaaskerk. Deze werd gebouwd in de 19e eeuw, nadat de Vrijheid van Godsdienst werd ingesteld en het dus weer veilig was voor de Katholieken om hun geloof te uiten.
Een interessant fenomeen zult u spotten als u naar de huisnummering op deze locatie kijkt. U ziet dat deze van nummer 162 opeens overgaat naar 194, alleen maar gescheiden door een donkere steeg. Volgens huidige kaarten zit nummer 164 verderop in de steeg, maar wat er met de nummers 166 - 192 is gebeurd is de eigenaar van deze cache op het moment van plaatsen een raadsel. Weet u wellicht hoe dit zit? Laat het vooral weten in uw logje.

You are standing at the Oudezijds Voorburgwal. ‘Oude’ means ‘Old’ which suggests there is also a ‘Nieuw’ (‘New’) and ‘Voor’ means ‘Front’ which suggests there is also an ‘Achter’ (‘Back’) and you are right, there is. The Oudezijds Voorburgwal, Oudezijds Achterburgwal, Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal and Nieuwezijds Achterburgwal together formed a protection around the 14th century inner city. The Nieuwezijds Achterburgwal nowadays goes by the name of Spuistraat.
If you look several meters to the North from this location, you will see the oldest building in Amsterdam: the Oude Kerk (Old Church); built at the beginning of the 14th century. Befóre the Catholics were kicked out of the city during the Alteration in 1578, the Oude Kerk was called Sint Nicolaaskerk. If once again you look to the North - past the Oude Kerk this time - you will see the towers of the current Sint Nicolaaskerk. This one was built in the 19th century, after the Freedom of Religion was reinstated and it consequently became safe again for the Catholics to express their faith.
You can spot an interesting phenomenon at this location should you look at the house numbering. You will notice that number 162 suddenly jumps to 194, only being seperated by a dark alley. According to current maps number 164 should be further down this alley, but whatever happened to numbers 166 through 192 is still a mystery to the cache owner at the moment of publication.
