Once upon a time, a couple of work friends suggested I try this silly little game called Geocaching. After finishing work at midnight December 31, 2007, I gave it a try. I found my first cache that night, a lampskirt micro (yeah, yeah, I know...) and 6 other caches, and I was completely hooked from there on out.
Every New Year's Eve since that date, I've tried to make it a point to go out and find some caches to commemorate the occasion. At first, I went by myself just to find a few caches. It was OK, but it seemed sorta like buying my own presents and baking my own cake to celebrate my birthday. As time went on and my circle of caching friends grew, I would invite some close friends to come out with me and that resulted in a lot of fun. Nowadays, I just hold an event on NYE and hope people will show up. I've been pretty lucky so far, so let's keep this streak going!
So here's what this event will be: A bunch of like-minded folks celebrating the game we all love in just about anything the weather decides to throw at us on New Year's Eve. Maybe we'll have a snowball fight. Perhaps we'll stand around and freeze. Whatever we do, I'm sure we'll enjoy each other's company on the last day of 2018.
Event occurs at the posted co-ords between 9:30am and 10:00am.
Happy New Year!
