Stage A / Zonen 1-2: Gruppenschlafsaal (einfach)
Finde (im ganzen evangelischen Abschnitt) den Heldenfriedhof. Dort befinden sich 114 Gräber, die fast alle mit einem einfachen kleinen Steinkreuz markiert sind. Einige „Luxusvarianten“ sind jedoch etwas anders gestaltet. Die Anzahl dieser Grabsteine ist A.
Stage B / Zone 1: Privatgemach (schwer)
Finde den abgegrenzten Grabbereich der Adelsfamilie Tupay von Isertingen. Der Bereich ist 8m lang und 8m breit. Er wird auf drei Seiten von einer 2m hohen Thujenhecke und auf einer Seite von einer 1.5m hohen Mauer umschlossen und ist nur durch einen schmalen Durchgang zwischen Hecke und Mauer zu betreten. Die letzte Ziffer des Geburtsjahrs der Person im Grab unter dem prunkvollen, schwarzen Eisenkreuz ist B.
Stage C / Zone 2: Zombienen (schwer)
Finde die Bienenstöcke. Sie sind 130cm hoch, grün angestrichen, mit bunten Blumen und Insekten verziert und stehen auf einem 60cm hohen Untergestell mit metallenen Seitenteilen und zwei 2m langen Querbalken aus Holz. Die Bienenstöcke werden vor allem im Winter immer wieder umgestellt oder vorrübergehend entfernt, manchmal gibt es also nur das Untergestell zu finden. Im Grab links daneben liegt Herr I. T. Nimm die letzte Ziffer seines Todesjahres und addiere 3, um C zu erhalten.
Teil 2
Stage D / Zonen 3-32: Gute Aussicht (einfach)
Finde (im ganzen katholischen Abschnitt) das Marienkreuz. Es ist 7m hoch und trägt eine lebensgroße Jesusfigur, zu deren Füßen eine ebenso lebensgroße Marienfigur steht. Die Anzahl der Zeilen des religiösen Spruchs am Sockel ist D.
Stage E / Zone (3*A + 2*C): Bombensicher (einfach)
Finde den wuchtigen Sarkophag des Feldmarschallleutnants von Langenau. Er ist 2m hoch, 1.5m breit, 3m lang und besteht aus grauem Stein. Die Anzahl der Worte der an einer Seite sichtbaren Widmung ist E.
Stage F / Zone (2*A + B + 3*C - 2): WordArt (einfach)
Finde den rockigsten Grabstein des Friedhofs. Er ist 180cm hoch, 30cm breit und schwarz. Er zeichnet sich vor allem durch seine auffällige, gelb-orange Beschriftung aus. Die letzte Ziffer des Todesjahrs von Frau S. ist F.
Stage G / Zone (B + C - 2): Murnockerl (mittel)
Finde den Murnockerl-Grabstein. Ein Murnockerl ist ein vom Fluss über lange Zeit völlig glattgeschliffener Stein. Der Stein ist 40cm hoch, 60cm lang, 50cm breit und hellgrau. Er befindet sich bis auf die Beschriftung im natürlichen Urzustand. Die letzte Ziffer des Todesjahrs von Herrn P. ist G.
Stage H / Zone (A + 2*B - 2*C): Der Freund aller Kinder (schwer)
Finde die Delfinskulptur aus Bronze. Sie steht auf einem Grab (auf Bodenhöhe), ist 60cm hoch, 20cm breit und stellt den aufrecht stehenden Oberkörper eines Delfins dar, der gerade aus dem Wasser springt. Die letzte Ziffer des Todesjahrs von Frau Z. ist H.
Stage I / Zone (A + B - 2*C - 2): Die 100 schönsten Mädchennamen (schwer)
Finde die Gedenktafel der Barmherzigen Schwestern. Sie ist 5m breit und 2.5m hoch. Darauf siehst du 100 Namen von verstorbenen Nonnen. Die Namen bestehen aus dem Ordensnamen (der erste Namensteil, sozusagen der Vorname) und dem Familiennamen. Fast alle Ordensnamen sind einzigartig, aber drei kommen auf der Tafel doppelt vor. Finde einen davon, egal welchen. Die Summe der jeweils letzten Ziffern der Todesjahre der beiden gleichnamigen Schwestern ist I. Falls der Ordensname mit einem E endet, ziehe vom Ergebnis zusätzlich 3 ab.
Stage J / Zone (2*A - B - C - 1): Wer braucht schon Mahagoni? (mittel)
Finde den goldenen Holzscheit. Der Holzscheit ist augenscheinlich ein gewöhnliches Stück Brennholz, das mit Goldfarbe lackiert wurde. Er ist 40cm lang, 10cm dick und ist senkrecht in einem grauen Steinrahmen angebracht. Der Rahmen ist 130cm hoch und 70cm breit. Im dazugehörigen Grab liegen zwei Personen. Die letzte Ziffer des Todesjahrs von Frau H. K. ist J.
Stage K / Zone (A + 4*C - 1): Leicht zu durchschauen (mittel)
Finde den gläsernen Grabstein. Er ist 140cm hoch, 40cm breit und besteht komplett aus farblosem Glas. Die letzte Ziffer des Todesjahrs von Frau H. ist K.
Teil 3
Final / Zone (???): Selbstreflexion (einfach)
Finde den Final an N47° (K - J).(100*(A - B) + 10*(E + F - D) + H)' E15° (20 + C + G).(100*(I + K - G) + 10*(F + J) + J)'. Die Dose ist ein mit grauem Klebeband umwickelter Petling und befindet ein kleines Stück vom Friedhof entfernt an einem einigermaßen abgelegenen Verkehrsschild. Sorry, aber ist echt schwer, in der Umgebung einen guten Platz zu finden, siehe auch frühere Disable-Logs. Die Dose beim Zurücklegen bitte auf der linken Seite des Pfostens (die von der Straßenlaterne abgewandte) anklemmen, dann ist sie von allen Seiten vor Blicken geschützt.
Beschreibung
Ein gemütlicher, dreiteiliger Multicache, der dich zu elf großen und kleinen Besonderheiten des St. Peter Stadtfriedhofs führt. Bring genug Zeit mit, genieße die einzigartige Atmosphäre und wirf vielleicht auch mal einen Blick abseits des kürzesten Weges. Für den ganzen Spaziergang solltest du zwischen 1h und 1.5h einplanen, die dabei zurückgelegte Wegstrecke beträgt ungefähr 4km.
Die für diesen Cache erstellte Friedhofskarte mit der Zoneneinteilung ist zur erfolgreichen Absolvierung zwingend nötig! Für paperless Caching kann man sie als einfache Bilddatei downloaden. Alternativ gibt es die Karte inklusive Stagebeschreibungen und übersichtlicher Variablentabelle auch als A4-Seite im PDF-Format zum Ausdrucken. Die Downloads befinden sich am Ende des Listings.
Der Cache besteht aus drei nacheinander zu absolvierenden Teilen mit insgesamt zwölf Stages. Bei jeder Stage ist ein Schwierigkeitsgrad angegeben (leicht/mittel/schwer), der die relative Schwierigkeit der Stages zueinander beschreibt. Teil 1 spielt sich in den Zonen 1 und 2 ab, welchen dem baumbewachsenen, heimeligeren evangelischen Abschnitt des Friedhofs entsprechen. Es gibt in jeder Zone eine separate Stage zu finden und zusätzlich eine „Global Challenge“, die sich im gesamten evangelischen Abschnitt abspielt. Teil 2 wechselt in den katholischen Friedhofsabschnitt und enthält ebenso eine „Global Challenge“ sowie sieben weitere separate Stages, deren Zonennummern aus den in Teil 1 gefundenen Variablen bestimmt werden. Ist auch Teil 2 geschafft, kann mithilfe aller gefundenen Variablen in Teil 3 das Final-Koordinatenset errechnet und die Dose geborgen werden.
Mach diesen Cache nicht, wenn es dir unangenehm ist, Gräber von fremden Personen zu besuchen. Ich persönlich denke, dass sich möglicherweise existierende Seelen von Verstorbenen über ein paar Besucher hin und wieder wenn überhaupt eher freuen, und dass, solang man sich angemessen und respektvoll verhält, Geocaching auf Friedhöfen moralisch völlig unbedenklich ist. Ich bin mir aber auch bewusst, dass die Meinungen hier auseinander gehen können.
Hunde und Fahrräder sind am Friedhof verboten. Der Friedhof ist zwar rund um die Uhr geöffnet, den Cache in der Nacht zu versuchen ist jedoch nicht empfehlenswert. Abgesehen davon, dass ich es persönlich für unangebracht halte, Gräber mit Taschenlampen abzuleuchten, sind viele Stages bei Dunkelheit selbst mit Lampen praktisch unmöglich zu finden - ist am Tag schon schwer genug. Ein Nachtspaziergang auf dem Areal ohne Cachingambitionen ist jedoch höchst empfehlenswert.
Part 1
Stage A / Zones 1-2: Group Dormitory (easy)
Find (within the whole Evangelic section) the “Heldenfriedhof” (hero cemetery). There are 114 graves side by side, and almost all of them are marked with a small stone cross. However, some "luxury variations" are a bit different. The number of these tombstones is A.
Stage B / Zone 1: Private Room (hard)
Find the seperated grave area of the noble family “Tupay von Isertingen”. The area is 8m long and 8m wide. On three sides it is enclosed by a 2m high thuja hedge and on one side by a 1.5m high wall. It can only be entered through a narrow opening between the hedge and the wall. The last digit of the year of birth of the person in the grave below the intricate, black cross made of iron is B.
Stage C / Zone 2: Zombees (hard)
Find the beehives. They are 130cm high, painted green and decorated with colorful flowers and insects. They are standing on an 60cm high underframe consisting of metal side parts connected by two 2m long wooden beams. In the winter the beehives get rearranged or removed occasionally, so sometimes it can happen that only the underframe is there. In the grave to the left of it lies Mr. I. T.. Take the last digit of his year of death and add 3 to get C.
Part 2
Stage D / Zones 3-32: Nice View (easy)
Find (inside the whole Catholic section) the “Marienkreuz” (Cross of Mary). It is 7m high and bears a life-sized Jesus figure. Under the cross there is an also life-sized Mary figure. The number of lines of the religious saying on the pedestal is D.
Stage E / Zone (3*A + 2*C): Bombproof (easy)
Find the massive sarcophagus of Field Marshal Lieutenant “von Langenau”. It is 2m high, 1.5m wide, 3m long and made of gray stone. The number of words of the dedication visible on the side is E.
Stage F / Zone (2*A + B + 3*C - 2): WordArt (easy)
Find the rockiest gravestone of the cemetery. It is 180cm high, 30cm wide and black. It is characterized mainly by its eye-catching, yellow-orange lettering. The last digit of Mrs. S.'s year of death is F.
Stage G / Zone (B + C - 2): Murnockerl (medium)
Find the “Murnockerl” tombstone. A “Murnockerl” is a stone that has been completely smoothed by a river during a long time. The stone is 40cm high, 60cm long, 50cm wide and light gray. Except for the lettering, it has been left in its natural original state. The last digit of Mr. P.'s year of death is G.
Stage H / Zone (A + 2*B - 2*C): King Of The Sea (hard)
Find the dolphin sculpture made of bronze. It stands on a grave (at ground level), is 60cm high, 20cm wide, and resembles the upright upper body of a dolphin which is just jumping out of the water. The last digit of Mrs. Z's year of death is H.
Stage I / Zone (A + B - 2*C - 2): Top 100 Girl’s Names (hard)
Find the memorial tablet of the “Barmherzige Schwestern” (Religious Sisters of Mercy). It is 5m wide and 2.5m high. There you see 100 names of deceased nuns. The names consist of the religious name (the first part of the name, practically the first name) and the surname. Almost all religious names are unique, but three of them appear twice on the tablet. Find one of them, no matter which one. The sum of the last digits of the years of death of the two sisters sharing the same name is I. If the religious name ends with an E, subtract 3 from the result.
Stage J / Zone (2*A - B - C - 1 ): Who Needs Mahogany? (medium)
Find the golden log. The log is, as it seems, an ordinary piece of firewood painted with gold paint. It is 40cm long, 10cm thick and is mounted vertically inside a gray stone frame. The frame is 130cm high and 70cm wide. Two people are buried here. The last digit of the year of death of Mrs. H. K. is J.
Stage K / Zone (A + 4*C - 1): Easy To See Through (medium)
Find the glass tombstone. It is 140cm high, 40cm wide and made entirely of transparent glass. The last digit of Mrs. H.'s year of death is K.
Part 3
Final / Zone (???): Self-reflection (easy)
Find the final at N47° (K - J).(100*(A - B) + 10*(E + F - D) + H)' E15° (20 + C + G).(100*(I + K - G) + 10*(F + J) + J)'. The box is a PET preform wrapped with grey duct tape and is located a short distance away from the cemetery on a relatively remote traffic sign. Sorry, but it's pretty hard to find a suitable spot in the area, see also previous disable logs. Please put the box back on the left side of the pole (the one facing away from the street light), so it can't be seen from any direction.
Description
A relaxed, three-part multi-cache that leads you to eleven bigger and smaller peculiarities of St. Peter Cemetery. Take enough time, enjoy the unique atmosphere and maybe also take a glance away from the quickest path. For the whole walk you should schedule between 1h and 1.5h. The distance covered is approximately 4km.
The cemetery map that has been created specifically for this cache includes the zone numbers and thus is absolutely necessary for completion! For paperless caching you can download it as a simple image file. Alternatively, the map including stage descriptions and a variable table is available as an A4 page in PDF format for printing. The downloads can be found at the end of the listing.
The cache consists of three consecutive parts with a total of twelve stages. Each stage has a difficulty level (easy/medium/hard) that describes the relative difficulty of each stage. Part 1 takes place in Zones 1 and 2, which equate to the tree-covered, cozier Evangelical section of the cemetery. There is a separate stage to be found in each zone, plus a "Global Challenge" that takes place throughout the Gospel section. Part 2 switches to the Catholic cemetery section. It includes a Global Challenge and seven additional separate stages whose zone numbers are calculated from the variables found in Part 1. If Part 2 is also done, the variables found can be used in Part 3 to calculate the final coordinates and retrieve the box.
Don’t do this cache if you’re uncomfortable with the thought of visiting foreign people’s graves. I personally think that potentially existing spirits of deceased might even like some visitors every now and then, and as long as one behaves respectfully it’s totally fine to go caching on cemeteries. I’m aware however that opinions may differ on this matter.
Dogs and bicycles are prohibited on the cemetery. Although the cemetery is open 24/7, it is not recommended to try this cache at night. Apart from the fact that I consider it inappropriate to use flashlights to examine tombstones, many stages are virtually impossible to find in the dark even with lamps - it's hard enough by day. Nevertheless, a nightly walk on the area without caching ambitions is highly recommended.
