Life's a Beach #86 - Seaton Hole

Welcome to Seaton Hole, an overlooked part of Seaton Beach which I have been reliabily informed used to be a bustling beach for tourists and locals alike until the landslip a few years ago. The cache is not at the posted co-ordinates. Pick up clues at the various waypoints en route to locate the final cache at GZ. Free parking is available close by the posted co-ordinates (see separate waypoint). You will need a pen to sign the log sheet.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING TIDE TIMES AND BOULDER CLIMBING

Please do check the tide times at https://tides.willyweather.co.uk/sw/devon/seaton.html as your route along the beach can be cut off during high tide. There are large boulders/rocks along a section of the beach - you may need to climb on top of a few of these to find the answer to one of the clues (although you may be able to see the answer without going onto them) and you may also need to hop onto them if the tide is high. Please replace the cache the right way around so that it's not too obvious from the beach that it's a cache container!

Posted co-ordinates - Seaton Hole information board. There's a lot of great information about Seaton Hole on the board, but how many letters are there in the second word on the brown wooden section above the main coloured information board? Answer = A.

Just to the right of this board and slightly up the hill there is a separate circular display with information about Extreme Survivors. The Cretaceous Period started approximately B50 million years ago.

Waypoint 1 - Beach information board. Using the key, what number is used for the Harbour Office (Answer = C) and what number is used for the Nature Reserve (Answer = D)?

Waypoint 2 - Concrete structure. To get to this structure you will have to climb on a few boulders - please be extremely careful, especially when wet. How many metal rods are there protruding from the front of the right hand side of the entrance to the structure. Answer = E.

The cache can be found at N 50 42.BAC  W 003 04.ADE

Checksum of digits A+B+C+D+E=29
