Geocache Description:

Congratulations! You are on the grounds of the Fort Heritage Precinct. If you look west, you will see a reconstruction of the 1875 North West Mounted Police fort. The North West Mounted Police were the first Europeans to settle on this land. It is because of this choice that Fort Saskatchewan is located where it is today.

To your north is the Historical Village. Here you will find a collection of original early 20th-century buildings from Fort Saskatchewan and the surrounding area.

If you look south, you will see a path leading back to a yellow and red house. This house was the Warden's Residence for the Alberta provincial jail that was once found on this land. The Warden's residence and its garage are the only two remaining buildings from this era.
