Year of Puzzles - November Mystery Cache

The penultimate installment in my Year of Puzzles series. I really hope everyone has enjoyed them so far.

For this month's puzzle, you'll need to identify the year in which the following events A to L took place. All of them happened in November. Once you have the year, take the specified digit from the year, or complete a simple sum using certain digits, to find the value for each letter.

Finally, use those values in the equation at the bottom to find the cache location. You'll be looking for a camouflaged plastic vial. 

A: Charles Darwin’s book On the Origin of Species was published. Take the final digit.

B: President John F. Kennedy is assassinated in Dallas, Texas. Divide the third digit by the fourth.

C: Howard Carter and the Earl of Caenarvon discover the tomb of Tutankhamun. Sum all the digits.

D: Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected to an unprecedented fourth team as U.S. President. Add the third and fourth digits.

E: French impressionist painter Claude Money was born in Paris. Take the third digit.

F: A plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament and King James I failed. Take the lowest digit.

G: The European Union came into existence when the Maastricht Treaty came into effect. Sum all the digits.

H: Do They Know It’s Christmas was originally recorded and released. Subtract the first digit from the third.

J: The Suez Canal officially opened having taken ten years to construct. Subtract the second digit from the fourth.

K: Winston Churchill was born at Blenheim Palace. Subtract the first digit from the fourth.

L: Award-winning actress Grace Kelly, later Princess of Monaco, was born in Philadelphia. Take the third digit.
