Geocache Description:

CB is the short for Celebrate Brummelbear (4-7-1944 – 3-17-2018). Leo’s vision of events in Detroit and on Belle Isle lives on in his memory.

Brummelbear’s BIMT – Flynn Pavilion was placed for the 2008 Belle Isle “monument tour” event. As you can see, this was one of Leo’s favorite places on the island as there are 2 caches this year relating to the Pavilion, be sure not to mix them up. The field puzzle is the same type as Leo had 11 years ago, though the final location had to be changed.

The Belle Isle Cachers have been around a long time together as friends and caching partners. Pictured here is Rattak, Brummelbear, Team Legend4 and Team Rumble. The first Belle Isle event was thought of by Brummelbear and was worked on with Peepz and Rattrak and they did the event collectively for a couple of years with the background support of Team Legend4 and DarrylW4. A few years went on with just Brummelbear and Ratttrak putting it together with plenty of support on event day. As the years went on we brought Team Legend4 in but other commitments they had to step out but always assisted as they could. Finally the work got a bit to much and Team Rumble stepped in for a several years now. With Brummelbear’s passing Team Legend4 came back in the fold full time. So you see here the Belle Isle cachers not only put on the big event each spring but always enjoy each other away from Belle Isle.
