The original Kid's Kache was placed 4/11/2015 by myself and my daughter-PandaPrincess7. After 3 years of operation, the ammo can was completely destroyed by a skidder that was doing some logging in the area. I decided to archive the old cache and replace it with a new one in a different location.
It is a .44 mile hike through meadows and forest. Some gradual elevation changes, but overall a nice hike for the entire family. There is a slight climb at the end. There is ample parking at the parking coordinates. You will then cross through a FS gate. From there you have a choice to either follow the trail over the hill, or follow the FS road. Either one will lead you to the cache. As you descend into the valley you will see the historical Reder Ranch. There is also a boy scout project on a very tall pole, which is a habitat for bats. You will then enter a grove of oaks and the road splits. Take the road to the right. After a short distance you will then leave the road and summit a small hill. Enjoy the adventure and be sure to rehide the container well.
There are lots of kids items in this cache. If you take an item, be sure to leave one for other kids to enjoy. There is a $10 gift card to a local hobby store for FTF!
