It does not happen often that you can walk from the town center to a waterfall, but in Kampar it is possible. A 45 minute walk from the Yau Kee restaurant in Kampar (famous for its Roti Ayam) will bring you there. If you come by car from KL, you turn right to Kg Batu Berangkai, just before the Bomba. From this junction it is less than 2 km to the fall. You will pass a resettled Orang Asli village on your way!
The falls are not particularly spectactular, but the swimming here is great - and popular with locals. It is one of my favorite spots in Malaysia, and one of the most peaceful! As a 2017 Fulbright English Teaching Assistant teaching English at a local SMK, I visited these falls frequently for a break from the workweek and the heat, or just a late morning picnic.
The falls themselves are made up of several pools in which you can swim. When you first park, there is a popular, and rather messy area right next to the road. This is the main waterfall. If you follow the road by foot, and eventually onto the trails, you will run into two more excellent swimming areas. Ask one of the men hunting for durians to sell or a local schoolboy for directions if you lose your way.

The lower pool is a spectacular green color, and has a nice rope for swinging and a cliff for jumping. The water here is deep, however, so be careful.

The upper pool is where you will find the cache. It is located nearby a pool that forms before an old dam (the Sungkai Keranji Old Dam). Have a swim, makan, and relax in the water before you go hunting. This is where the geocache is located.
