Geocache Description:

This was supposed to be the location of a puzzle cache.  The coordinates had checked with the Reviewer, the puzzle created and tested, and lastly the final check by the Reviewer before publication.

Given skills within the local community I’d picked a couple of leading contenders for the FTF, so when I got messaged from one of them advising that the Checker wasn’t agreeing with their solution and wanted to check their puzzle solution, which was provided, I got a bad feeling - "First Bad".

After sending a message back that their solution was correct I investigated the matter to find that I’d inadvertently set the published coordinates as the final’s coordinates - "Second Bad".

I then disabled the cache while determining how I could fix my mistake but found that I couldn’t.  In the editing page you can alter most things – but not the published coordinates.  It can be done using the Update Coordinates function - but the system then posts a note of the change – including listing the original coordinates which in this instance would be the solution - "Third Bad".

In the end, less hoping a Reviewer may be able to assist, which was an open question, the only option I had was to archive the cache as things were so bad - "So Bad".

But this wasn’t the end.  The original solver, now armed with confirmation of the correct coordinates, raced out and bagged the FTF.  Well done to the SoBads - this cache is for you.

So ends the story of this cache and how it got its name.

The original logbook has had a line underscored leaving SoBad's original log and a comment for the renaming and resetting for who ever is the FTF for this cache, and also a new set of pathtags as a prize for the FTF. Cache is small, so BYOP. Enjoy.
