The 9 main islands of the Daymaniyat achipelago lies 17 km away from cost of Muscat Governorate in the gulf of Oman in the indian ocean.
It is a nature reserve since 1996. It features pristine beaches on which the white sands are caressed by the sea’s crystal blue waters. This reserve has a rich natural heritage and is replete with several kinds of coral reefs, including some examples that are quite rare. The island is home to a large number of sea turtles that lay their eggs and nest there, as well as a magnet for migratory and indigenous birds.
In 1984, the place was recognised internationally because it is located within the project of the Great Barrier Reef, considered an international nature reserve and one of the most beautiful diving locations in the Sea of Oman.
Please preserve yourself that fantastic area ! Dont disturb the animals (birds, tortules, black tips sharks etc...) ! Dont break the coral, make sure that yourself or your captain through the anchor on the sand and not on coral. Make sure that the anchor chain does not break the coral. Dont touch or collect the coral. Please go there with garbage bag and collect any rubbish you will find and bring it back ashore after your trip. Some place have been cleaned but other one are full of garbages left after picknic by visitors or brough by the sea.
Jabal Al Kabir is the main and central island of the group. The reserve guard house is situated on this island.
The cache is situated in the South West part of the island, on an elevation near a small pebble beach. It is a small size container protected by a brown socks. We put there a log book, two cards "congratulation you have found it" in english, arabic and Indi, one pencil, one sharpener, one ballpoint pen, one car toy, one badge with HM Sultan Qaboos Al Said who is doing so much for the country.
The cache can welcome small tracking bugs and collectibles.
