Short Meet & Greet at Independence Monument
This will be the first time Vader&zoon (the Netherlands) will be coming to Kazakhstan. We have planned to find our cache #1800 here in Almaty :-) We are always keen on meeting fellow cachers, swapping TB's and exchanging idea's and experiences. Therefore we will be organizing another Event, a short Meet & Greet. It will be held down at the Independence Monument from 16:30-17:00 (or longer when we are having fun :-). We will be somewhere near this Golden Warrior Monument on Republic Square. The monument celebrates the independence of Kazakhstan, the identity of its people, and the role of the city of Almaty as capital of Kazakhstan until 1997 when the capital moved to Astana. The statue depicts a Saka warrior on a winged snow leopard and stands on a 28 m (91 feet) tall column.
