2002 PURU (PopUp RoundUp) Commemorative Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

TheBeans: Well, it's been a long run for our little commemorative cache but it's time to put it to rest.

Our thanks go out to everyone who enjoyed the hunt, avoided the muggles and for the rangers who assisted by keeping an eye out on the box and the area. You are all the best!

On a final note, we'd like to add that of the several caches we've hidden over the years, this is the ONLY one that was never vandalized or the contents destroyed. We'd like to think that this is due to the many, MANY good geocachers out there who find it more fun to hunt than to destroy. Thank you all for keeping an eye on the cache and for making this a fun project for our camping group!

Geocache Description:

A commemorative cache marking the first annual Pacific Northwest PopUp RoundUp campout at Ft. Canby State Park. This cache includes contributions from many of the members who attended this first camping event. While you are at this park, continue up the hill to the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center and learn about this area's part in Washington's history.

You can drive into the general area where the cache is hidden but you will need to go off into the brush to hunt for the box. It's well hidden and could be in many places, but because it's hidden in a large open space, be discreet in your hunting, finding and replacing.
