Come and watch the last sunset of 2018 from the Coaley Peak viewpoint.
If the weather is unkind, we can always shelter in our cars!
Might manage a tent though!
Four years ago, at GC5GEZZ , we were lucky enough to witness a spectacular sunset in the company of a lovely group of cachers.
Maybe we'll be lucky again!
Sunset is timed for 4.08pm
Join us between 3.30pm and 4.30pm
Wrap up warmly and let's give thanks for the caching adventures of 2018
And there's a Thanks 2018 souvenir up for grabs too!
Some excellent caches and things to see nearby, including the neolithic longbarrow at the Peak itself and Hetty Peglar's tump, location of Leonard193's GC7ZQP5.
I'm going to quote a little of the new cache's description as it seems quite appropriate:
The magic of the Tump which is captured in the stone is far from lost but will never be fully revealed. The mystery which surrounds it merely adds to one's curiosity and arouses the spirit of imagination which dwells within us all. The name of the place where the tump is situated (Uley) when traced back in to Hebrew means "Olah", burnt offerings, a place of lifting up for sacrifice and voice of prayer.
