Geocache Description:

See The Great Cause 1) cache page (Click Here) for the cartridge and the first set of instructions. You must have completed the tasks required for The Great Cause 6) in order to complete the tasks required for this cache.

In order to be crowned the Scottish Monarch you must have acquired 250 Kudos points in order to have gained sufficient support amongst the clans. You must then visit the stone of destiny. Once you have completed this task the location of the Stone of destiny cache will appear on your map.

The stone of destiny was originally at Scone Palace and was used during the coronation of Scottish monarchs. In 1296 Edward I of England stole the stone from Scone. When Scotland and England signed the Treaty of Edinburgh-Northampton in 1328 Scotland paid England £100,000. Amongst the conditions of the treaty was the return of the Stone of Destiny to Scotland. The English failed to meet the terms of the treaty and the Stone of Destiny remained in England until on Christmas Day 1950, four Scottish students (Ian Hamilton, Gavin Vernon, Kay Matheson, and Alan Stuart) removed the stone from Westminster Abbey in London. Three months later it turned up at the front door of Arbroath Abbey. In 1996, the stone was officially returned to Scotland and is now in the Crown Room in Edinburgh Castle. The stone will now only leave Scotland again when there is a coronation in Westminster Abbey.

Details of how to acquire Kudos points are given in The Great Cause 3.
